A year and half!!

Over the last three months since my last post, Grace has been busy busy busy, as have Garrett and I  between work, home life, and extracurricular activities.  Grace is now a year and a half old and is oh so smart; sometimes too smart for her own good (those that have had toddlers know exactly what I mean).  It is when she is quiet that we have to really keep an eye out to see what she is getting into.
She absolutely loves animals and loves people.  I don't think we could have been blessed with a more sweet girl.  She is always so very happy (unless she has to get a shot from the doctor or is not getting her way).

So, what have we been up to these last few months???

We ended August with the Sheppard family reunion and then started September with Garrett and I getting to have a date night out to Night of Joy and had an absolutely wonderful time!!!!!!  Toby Mac stole the show by far for us that evening.  He was incredible!  It was just a great night of worshiping God, togetherness with my amazing husband, and an all around good time.   I also participated in the Color Run again with some friends and family.  We had a wonderful time (Despite losing a car-key along the run.  You'll have to ask my mom about that one, hehe... LOVE YOU MAMA!).  This month we decided to un-enroll Grace from MyGym.  Financially and just for Grace, we feel it was the best thing to do.  This gives us more time to do things on the weekend as a family, gives me a time to focus on "me" and has really simplified our lives.  We look forward to getting her into something again when she is just a little bit older.  And finally, we rounded out the month celebrating Garrett's birthday.  And since Garrett and I's birthdays are only two weeks a part, we celebrated both with a date night out to Melting Pot (SO YUMMY!)... what a treat that was!

October was yet another busy month.  We celebrated my birthday and Garrett and Grace sure did spoil me!  I was so excited and happy with the gifts that I received.  Garrett also finally got his new truck.  Those that know Garrett know that he has been wanting to get a truck for so long to use for hauling hay, wood, and playing in.  Well, we finally got it and to say he is one happy boy is an understatement.  Then later in the month we took a family trip to Blizzard Beach Water Park out at Disney and Grace did great!!  She lasted a good several hours before getting overly tired and she was a trooper... even did her first water slides all by herself like a big girl!!  We were so very proud of her.  Finally, we rounded out the month with Halloween and Grace was a cute little lady bug.  Family may remember when I was a lady bug at 2 years of age... well, we did it!  My mom and I recreated the same costume for sweet Grace and she looked absolutely adorable!!  Garrett had doubts that we'd be able to pull it off, but even he was pleasantly surprised and kept saying how great it looked and how cute she was in it.

Now, that brings us to this month... November.  This month started out rough as we got a call from KinderCare saying that Grace was not walking.  Yes, we were kind of in shock and immediately went to get her.  Sure enough she would not walk on her left leg at all and would only crawl to get anywhere.  If we tried to make her walk, she just cried.  So, we ultimately had to take her to the hospital ER and she got x-rays and blood taken.  They could not figure out what it was, as no bones were broke and she showed no other symptoms of anything.  After some doses of Tylenol and over a few days, she slowly started to get her walking back (Praise God).  Then she was diagnosed with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.  That leads me to believe that the leg may have been a precursor to that.  Now all that is said and done with and our girl is back to 100%!  YAY!!  This last weekend, Garrett and I were invited with some friends from church to go out 4-wheeling with them and boy did we have a great time!!!  We got a little muddy, a little wet, and had an absolute BLAST!!

So, now we are here today and counting down the days until our Thanksgiving family vacation and Christmas family vacation.  I cannot believe how fast this year has gone.  Every week that comes and goes is just another week that our little girl is slowly but surely growing into a little girl... baby no more is she.
