Grace Turns 4... and MORE!

I can't believe that I have not posted anything since Christmas of last year.  That goes to show how crazy busy we have been around here.  Between work, home, and everything in between, we have not had time to breathe, but we have been really enjoying life and watching our sweet girls grow.  Since my last post, some major things that have happened including a special girl turning 4 and another special lady having a surprise birthday like no other!  Also, Garrett and I rang in the new year by celebrating 5 wonderful years of wedded bliss at the celebration of Amanda and Thiago's wedding!!  Oh and did I mention, Garrett and I are also an Aunt and Uncle now?!  Garrett's sister Sam welcomed a precious girl, Juniper this month.  Here are some pictures to capture and tell our story over the last 6 months.

January: Garrett and I celebrated our anniversary by taking a cruise to Cozumel and Key West.  Oh yeah, and my sister got married!  Her and Thiago are so perfect together.  The day was absolutely PERFECT with the most beautiful flower girls ever!  Scarlett is 18-mos old and just a cute little thing... learning and growing way TOO fast!  Grace also had a fun play-date with her best bud Kendall.  We went to Firehouse subs for lunch and got to paint some pottery; a beautiful red alligator (Grace's) and purple cat (Kendall).

February: The fun is beginning... updating the girls' rooms upstairs... FINALLY!  Although because we have so much to do, it's going to take some time.  I can say that we are in June now and still not done (remember, we've had a crazy busy several months, so squeezing this in is not easy); drywall is done and much of the painting is, but still have all the flooring, the doors, and the bathroom vanity to get done.  Here are a couple of before pictures just for you to remember.  I will be sure to post the updates when it is complete... it'll be a WORLD of a difference!

March: Our babies are looking less and less like babies... time please slow down!  We also took some much needed time as a family outside with the animals and cleaning up around the stalls.  It is always more fun as a family :) Love... pure LOVE!  The end of the month was also a great, as my mom brought the girls out to meet me for lunch and we also spent an evening out celebrating my grandparents 59th... wedding anniversary, yep... 59 years and going strong!!

April... now this was a fun month!!  We got to go to Atlanta to see my best friend, Stephanie and her sweet family.  We also got to celebrate Jackson (Garrett's best friend's son) turning two while we were up there.  Then we took a trip to North Carolina and South Carolina... this was the girls' first airplane ride and the first time Scarlett got to meet her Great Grandpa Frank.  And... Grace is now 4!!!  For her birthday, she wanted to see a real Lion at Disney; so we took her and her best bud Bella to do just that :) We also held a fun party for her at the house, complete with a slip n' slide and all... Grace and a few others weren't too sure about it at first, but in the end, everyone had a wonderful time!!  Oh and what did she get for her birthday?  COWS!  Haha... yeah, we actually got them on her birthday; so they are "her" cows for now... she knows that they will not be here forever, but she sure loves them!  P.s. she knows not to name them too; so she just says "hi cows!"  Not sure how we managed all this in a single month, but we did and we had a blast doing it!

May: We started this month out with a bang... I definitely was able to pull a fast one over mom and it wasn't easy!!!  If you know us, you know how close we are; so planning a big birthday surprise without her finding out was very difficult, but oh so worth it and so much fun!  I invited many of her former co-workers that she had not seen in quite a while.  I even invited one of the best men we know and her former boss that she just loves and his wife.  When she saw them there, she lost it.  Oh and daddy rocked the perfect gift, getting her the earrings she has been wanting, but not expecting.  Thank you to those that helped me get everyone's contact info and for helping me to pull this off.  Also, big thank you to Garrett for hosting this with me at the house.  This is a day I'll never forget and hope that she won't either.  Here are just some of the people that LOVE my mama so very much... wow, you are quite the loved one mom!!  At the end of the month, our ladies from Church had their annual get together and this year we made beautiful wreaths.  I included a picture of some of the ladies that have been there for me as a wonderful role-model and sister in Christ, but even more so, as a friend.  These ladies hold a very special place in my heart!  Lastly, we had fun celebrating two other little ones... Grace Lynn (not our Grace Lynn, but her sweet friend Grace Lynn... yes they have the same name, lol) celebrated her 4th birthday and we got to celebrate with her!  And, Wyatt celebrated his 6th birthday so we got to celebrate with him.  Wow, where is the time going?!

June: This month we took the girls to their first rodeo and guess who got to ride a sheep?!  Grace got to join in the fun by "competing" in the mutton bustin'.  She did awesome!  Mind you, she did not stay on very long, but she still did great and we are so proud of her!!  After all was said and done, on the way home, she says "I wanna ride a bull!!" haha... no baby girl, we are not riding bulls.  She even got her first belt buckle for the event and she LOVES it!!  Watching the joy on our girls face during the entire rodeo just melted my heart... I guess we'll be going to many more in the future :) To round out the month and this post, check out our newest little addition to the family... Our niece Juniper with Sam, Scarlett and Grace!  Grace and Scarlett were so sweet with her and so excited to meet their new cousin!

So, now here we are at the end of June and planning for a certain someone's second birthday.  Holy moly, where is this time going?!  Scarlett Lily will be a big 2 year old in exactly a month.  I cannot believe it!!  She is our little fireball, but what a great little personality she has.  We just love watching these two blossom in their own unique ways.  May God just be there to help us to guide them in His ways and not the ways of the world.  Watching them pray and talk about God is so heartwarming and I just don't want them to ever change.  They are perfect, at least in our eyes!!  Here's one last picture of both our sweet girls with their Papi (my dad in the middle) and two of their great grandfathers (Papa V and Papa S).  I will forever cherish these moments!!
