24 weeks!

Christmas day marked the 6 month point.  I am officially into the third trimester... and I still can't believe it!  With all the holidays, weddings, vacations, etc. time has flown by.  I am so excited about this third trimester.  This week has been a wonderful one.  It was so great to spend the holidays with family.  Christmas Eve, it was nice to have my mama, daddy, sister, Grandma, and Papa with Garrett and I at our Christmas Eve service.  Then we came back to our house for some presents and dinner together.  Sunday morning we woke up and drove to my home church, New Horizons.  It was so great to see everyone there and enjoy a wonderful service with my family.  After church, we opened up more presents at my parents house and then headed over to my Grandpa's for a wonderful family dinner (aunts, uncles, and cousins included; even Favorite!).  All in all, it was great to see people too that I haven't seen in a while (family, friends, etc) and have them see my growing belly!

Good gifts come in small packages
and are definitely worth the wait

For Christmas, some fun gifts that I and/or Garrett received are my yellow boots, a baby rocker and swing, canvas wedding picture, personalized painting by my Grandmother, and Garrett's electric razor.  I will spare you the entire list, lol.  However, every gift we received was great!  I hope that each of you had a wonderful Christmas with your families, thanked God for your many blessings, and just enjoyed the time together, to remember the real reason for the season (as cliche as it may sound).  Here are some pictures from the holidays this past week with our family.

Can you see Cambrie in the painting?!  Love it! :)

Garrett also did a little horseback riding this week on Harry... the first time since our engagement pictures that he's had time and has been able to ride him.  Harry did well and Garrett had a great time.  Here are some pictures of the boys and of course one of Cambrie from this week :)

Other news this week, Garrett and I reserved a spot for Grace at KinderCare.  They only have 8 infant spots available on a regular basis and currently 7 of those 8 spots were filled.  Needless to say, we are very fortunate to be able to fill that 8th spot.  I was in KinderCare when I was younger and have a couple people that to this day still swear by them.  And, after taking a tour and meeting some of the staff, Garrett and I agreed that it would be a wonderful place for our little girl.  I can't believe that this time next year we will have a little 8 month old to enjoy.  Ahh, how the time flies, but I am continuing to enjoy every single minute of it!

Yep, she is still the size of a papaya, but a growing papaya; looking forward to a new fruit or veggie soon.

23 weeks!

This week has been pretty crazy and with taking some time off work, completely lost track of time and did not realize yesterday was Wednesday.  That is why I'm a little delayed with the update.  Will be back on track next week.

Thursday evening we hosted community small group at our home for the first time.  It was a wonderful time of food, fun, and fellowship.  Cambrie did make the evening a little interesting because she wanted attention with everyone over; so, she definitely wasn't quiet.  All in all though, we had a wonderful time!  Saturday Garrett and I received a new horse to board.  He is pretty handsome!  Kate and Mike (friends of mine from Journey Christian Church) needed a new place to board their baby Scooter.  So, he is now staying with us temporarily.  He is a beautiful and gentle guy; looks like a miniature Harry.  He's definitely much SMALLER though.  Oh and update on our new kitten; it is a boy.  His name is OJ (for Orange Juice) and he is becoming more and more friendly by the day, but still very skittish of his surroundings.  He's adorable though.

Then Saturday evening Garrett and I attended his company Christmas party at the Boardwalk hotel convention center at Disney.  It was no easy feat finding something to wear though!  Hardly anything fit... I resorted to a slightly more casual black dress that stretches, haha.  It all turned out okay though and it was a wonderful evening!  We had a great time sitting with Andrea and PK and also meeting several other coworkers of Garrett's.  Sunday we had our children's program at church.  The little ones looked absolutely adorable.  We had angels, a sheep, donkey, horse, cow, shepherds, etc.  It is always so much fun when the kids are involved... you never know what will happen.  It was a great show though and the worship music was great too (the highschoolers led that this week and did a great job).  Then that evening we had our church Christmas dinner.  It was delicious!!  I had a great time with our fellow community group members and also meeting new people from the church.

Monday, Garrett and I had a doctors appointment.  And, it was a great one!!  Last time I went to the doctor, I had gained a little too much weight, but this week, I found out that I had only gained a pound since the last visit!!  So, hopefully I am back on track... just gotta be conscientious of what and how much I'm eating, which is hard to do when I'm always hungry.  Grace's heartbeat also was strong and great to hear again. I love hearing it every time we go to the doctor.  Monday evening, I started my first Girls group with some friends from church.  Four of us ladies went to One Flight Up to share with one another, learn more about one another, pray, fellowship, etc.  It was a nice quaint little place and it was also a pleasant surprise to run into a former dancer and sweetheart MaryKatherine (MK).  Then, last night Garrett and I went to Winnie Palmer hospital for woman and babies... we pre-registered for delivery and also did a hospital tour.  Talk about a beautiful and busy hospital.  It really put things into perspective and is making us quite excited for the big day.  Although, I'm not too sure about the 45 minute drive, lol.  However, after talking to them, it sounds like a lot of people arrive too early and either do a lot of walking around or have to turn around and go home... so I'm hoping that the drive and walk from the parking garage will put us there just in time to welcome our angel.  Only time and God will tell though.  It's not on our timing.  Oh did I mention, my innie is soon to become an outie... I cannot believe how much my belly is growing and how shallow my innie is becoming.  I've always had an innie, so it's definitely a new experience for me and Garrett thinks it's the funniest/cutest thing, haha.

This week has certainly been a wonderful one.  Despite still trying to get over a slight cold (which isn't fun when you can't take medicine), I wouldn't have changed this week for anything.  I cannot wait for Christmas this week with family.  I hope that you all have a blessed Christmas and enjoy every minute of it with your family, celebrating the birth of Jesus and remembering the real reason for the season.  God Bless you all!!

Here are some pictures of our babies from the week to enjoy :)

  • She's forming little nipples (yeah, really!)
  • Her face is fully formed now -- she just needs a little extra fat to fill it out.
  • She's listening to your voice and your heartbeat -- and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking.

22 weeks!

22 weeks and counting!  Sorry I did not get this up on my normal Wednesday; internet went out at our home yesterday.  So, here you are!

It has certainly been a busy week, but a great one!  Friday after work is date night for Garrett and I.  But this week, rather than going out to dinner, we just picked up something quick on the way home.  We then ran to pick up our Christmas tree and began decorating (well Garrett really did most all the decorating and it looks great!  I wrapped presents).  Oh and while doing this, Garrett had also made a fire to enjoy while home.  It was so nice to enjoy date night in a different manner this week and to just appreciate the blessings we have right here at home.  Here a couple pictures of my growing belly in front of our Christmas tree this year.

Of course my goofy husband had to have
a photo opp while decorating the tree
Love him!
Saturday evening both families got together and went out to Kobe's for dinner.  It was so wonderful to have everyone together.  Unfortunately Amanda was unable to be there though.  We missed you Boo.  While there, at the table next to us, we all could’ve sworn that a basketball player came in, but none of us could put a finger on who he was.  You’d think with both families there and the basketball fans we are, we would’ve known.  I can tell you though that it was not a Magic player, so he couldn’t have been too important, right? Just kidding.  All in all it was a wonderful evening with everyone.

Then, Sunday right after church, my company had it’s company Christmas party.  For Christmas this year, we were treated with tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  It was absolutely incredible!  The music was wonderful and the light, fire, and other effects were amazing.  I believe Grace also really enjoyed it because she was dancing up a storm during a couple of the songs.  Garrett and I both noticed her moving a lot more than normal.  After the orchestra, the company employees and their dates made our way downtown to Ceviche for dinner and drinks.  Nova had their own private room so we could all mingle together and just enjoy one another’s company.  It made for a great evening.

Yesterday was our next big day.  We woke up to find out that our poor rooster, Foghorn Leghorn, unfortunately did not make it through the night.  He had been getting gradually worst the last few days and quite rapidly.  I believe a pygmy snake may have gotten to him and finally took its toll on him.  I’m sad to see the handsome guy go.  When we have our next rooster we will have to name him Foghorn Leghorn, Jr.  On a happier note, a co-worker of Garrett had a kitten he needed to get rid of, so we now have a new kitten to add to the family.  I’m not sure if it is a boy or girl yet because we just got it and it’s still very skittish and scared after a long car ride home.  Not to mention, she (I'm assuming a girl) is only about 6-8 weeks old.  So, we don’t want to mess with him or her too much, to avoid getting cut or bit or upsetting her more.  Once I find out the sex, we’ll get you a name.

All in all, it’s been a whirlwind of a week, but a good one.  I have been feeling the same as previous weeks, just still growing.  Grace is also more noticeably active.  I can’t wait to meet our little blessing.

  • Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.
  • He's sleeping in cycles -- about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).
